The website has been updated with images from the 60s, 70s, 80s also over years have been also been update. The website hasn't been updated for a long time due to hardly anyone sending me any images to upload to the website, new and old images are always welcome. You can either upload them though the website or you can just email them to me.
Over the last few months I've lost two close family members my mother Maureen Richardson from Princess Ave who passed away in March and my Grandad Tom Wilcox from Haughton Green who passed away 2 weeks ago. Tom Wilcox owned the pet shop at Crownpoint next to The Kings pub for many years until he retired sometime in the late 80s. Hopefully some people will remember them I have include images on the index page instead of the flash intro at http://www.dentonmanchester.co.uk
Also another family member Billy Richardson pasted away last year.
Hopefully I would like to keep the website up and running but as I live in Wales is hard to snap new Photographs. It’s that time of year again, the Denton Carnival will he here on Sunday 9th September it will leave Two Trees school at 12:30 it will be travelling along Two Trees Lane, Stockport Road, Crown Point, Manchester Road, Acre Street and Duke Street, arriving at Victoria Park at around 1.30pm. Free activities include face and painting, clay modelling, craft activities and opportunities meet the cast of “Jack and The Beanstalk along with Daisy the Cow. And don’t forget the inflatable’s and children’s rides all within the park. If anyone could send me some photographs of the event I would be grateful as I’m not too sure if I can attend.

Denton Carnival 2010
Well I managed to get to the carnival, as millions and millions (slight exaggeration) did. Before the carnival took place it actually pissed it down. Wasn't sure if the carnival was going to take place it was that bad, however the weather brighten up the longer the day went on. Nice to see some faces I haven't seen in a long while. The carnival itself wasn't really that long however they put on a good show afterwards that went on for hours and hours. I haven't got round to uploading the images or videos to the website yet, hopeing to get it done this weekend. However saying that I've just uploaded a slide show of the day up on youtube and you an view it here

There’s not that much information online but this is what I’ve managed to get. Entertainment starts at 12.30pm when the carnival parade walks from the old Two Trees School in Haughton Green to Victoria Park.

Attractions in the park include performances from the Tameside Titans, the Scouts Samba Band and Evade Martial Arts. Animal-lovers will be dealing with some prickly customers with volunteers from Rochdale Hedgehog Rescue. There will be henna and face painting, comedy, craft activities and a bucking bronco plus a funfair from Friday to Sunday on Saxon Street car park. The carnival procession will set off from Two Trees Lane via Stockport Road, Crown Point, Manchester Road, Acre Street, Duke Street and arrive in the park at around 1.30pm.
